18:00 - 22:00 Theaterhaus/Musik der Jahrhunderte (P1), Stuttgart
Kyiv Dispatch is a two-day festival featuring four concerts and six audiovisual installations/sonic interventions around Stuttgart, co-curated by Kyiv-based Ukho Music and InterAKT Initiative of Stuttgart. The concert program aims to showcase some of the key Ukrainian composers and performers of contemporary classical and electroacoustic music, while installations primarily delve into the sonic images of Kyiv. Many of the participants had to flee Ukraine after Feb 24, 2022, due to the Russian war of aggression, which made the collective work impossible for duos and ensembles. The project is their first opportunity to reunite this year. Kyiv Dispatch is presented by the InterAKT Initiative and UKHO Music in cooperation with Musik der Jahrhunderte. Read more

Olyrix, 29/09/2022:
KYIV DISPATCH
Ukho Music - InterAKT Initiative - Musik der Jahrhunderte
“Kyiv Dispatch” is a two-day festival featuring four concerts and six audiovisual installations / sonic interventions around Stuttgart, co-curated by Kyiv-based Ukho Music and InterAKT Initiative from Stuttgart. The concert program aims to showcase some of the key Ukrainian composers and performers of contemporary classical and electroacoustic music, while installations primarily delve into the sonic images of Kyiv. Many of the participants had to flee Ukraine after February 24th, 2022 due to the Russian war of aggression, which made the collective work impossible for duos and ensembles. The project is their first opportunity to reunite this year.
Put together by Sasha Andrusyk of Ukho, the program touches the work of three generations of Ukrainian composers, by featuring rarely performed early works of Valentyn Silvestrov, along with the pieces of Alla Zagaikevych, Maxim Kolomiiets, Alexey Shmurak, Oleh Shpudeiko, Maxim Shalygin, Alisa Zaika, Igor Zavgorodnii. It also presents Ukrainian performers whose work has been pivotal for the new music scene in Ukraine, including Ukho Ensemble Kyiv, Yevhen Gromov, Alexey Shmurak, Viktoriia Vitrenko, Dmytro Pashinsky, Dina Pysarenko, and others.
The project, hence, features:
a presentation of Valentyn Silvestrov’s chamber music written throughout his avant-garde period (1961-1971)
Ukho Ensemble performing the pieces of young Ukrainian composers along with Grisey’s masterpiece “Vortex temporum” under the baton of Luigi Gaggero, conductor of Kyiv Symphony Orchestra
a premiere of a new song cycle by the duo of Alexey Shmurak (voice, piano) and Oleh Shpudeiko (electronics)
and a sonic journal of 2022 presented through a set of installations and an electroacoustic performance by Ian Spektor and Max Werner
an audiovisual installation by Kyiv-based Studio Radar on Viktoriia Vitrenko’s (voice, piano) recent project “Limbo” with music by Alla Zagaikevych, Agata Zubel, Sven Ingo Koch, and others.
